Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $85,000 - $115,000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Job Overview

The Senior Brand Marketing Specialist works with the Manager, Brand Marketing to support Brand Marketing efforts required to build and deliver a world class brand in line with our mutuality and member centricity strategies.

The Brand Marketing team will support the marketing needs of key enterprise-wide initiatives including corporate sustainability, employee communications and community teams while ensuring we continue to build brand relevance and awareness through programs such as sports marketing.

The Brand Marketing team will also support the development of our Member Value Proposition (MVP), the evolution of our brand expression (including any future creative platform), and lead customer communications initiatives as member centricity evolves. The team will also develop new strategies and programs (annual Brand Marketing plans, co-op/sponsorship advertising programs).

Job Responsibilities

  • Works with other members of the Marketing team to support the development and execution of brand campaigns in support of community, sustainability, and other enterprise wide, brand building initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with internal clients and build a reputation across all teams as a credible, trusted advisor.
  • In partnership with other Marketing team members, and other internal stakeholders, support efforts to evolve our customer communications documents through simple language and intuitive omni-channel service and design.
  • Works directly with the Employee, Corporate Communications and Community and Sustainability teams to coordinate the external execution of internal oriented communications activities (PR, community, employee/corporate communications) across disparate teams.
  • Leads the development, management and evolution of our sports marketing and sponsorship strategy.
  • Supports the director and manager in evolving the Wawanesa brand strategy.
  • Works to ensure our brand expression is consistent across all channels and properties, including digital channels.
  • Supports other members of the team in crisis situations to ensure our brand is protected across all channels.
  • Supports the implementation of our brand guidelines and identity standards across the enterprise.
  • With the manager, supports the organization with direction on how to bring our brand to life across all channels and initiatives including digital experiences and marketing communications campaigns and materials.

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in business, marketing, marketing communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in marketing communications or related department or relevant agency.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering creatively inspiring, business-driving briefs and presentations.
  • Demonstrated expertise leading and executing sports marketing campaigns, sponsorships and events.
  • Experience supporting and executing large-scale integrated campaigns and budgets.
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams on sponsorship activations; collaborating with and engaging multiple internal and external stakeholders towards a common goal.
  • Experience promoting and marketing community programs and sustainability initiatives an asset.
  • Experience progressing work through various stakeholders including senior leaders, communications, strategy, business operations.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • A dynamic presenter capable of conveying complex ideas and strategies across diverse groups including senior leaders.
  • A down to earth and open collaborator with exceptional project management skills who balances detail driven work with delivering on objectives and timelines.
  • Relentlessly curious about marketing, brand, member centricity and community orientation.
  • Experience within insurance an asset.
