Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for a Senior Capital Analyst to join the team.  This position reports to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis in the NGL Business Unit (NBU), part of Pembina’s Facilities Division. 
NBU is involved in the fractionation, terminaling and storage, and logistics and distribution of natural gas liquids throughout north America. Our assets include the Redwater and Aux Sable fractionation facilities, as well as rail terminals in Ontario and marine terminals on the West coast of British Columbia.
The Senior Capital Analyst supports Pembina’s strategic priorities by contributing to the resilience of our existing infrastructure through thoughtful analysis of the capital project portfolio.  The role is key in helping NBU understand it’s capital spending patterns and providing recommendations to leadership that help guide decisions.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
-Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina/safety;
-Subject matter expert and first point of contact for NBU regarding capital portfolio, policy and procedures;
-Support and collaborate with Project Managers and Cost Control Analysts on Monthly forecast;
-Monitor and perform return on invested capital (ROIC) calculation;
-Facilitate the quarterly portfolio prioritization process;
-Prepare monthly capital reports and variance analysis for management and corporate reporting;
-Understand and work closely with various asset site leads to prepare capital budgets, and long-range sustaining capital expectations;
-Subject matter expert related to inputs for creating AFE’s maintained in SAP Project and Portfolio Management (PPM), including an understanding of Joint venture agreements and the impact to capital projects and Pembina’s project governance process;
-Responsible for analysis on capital accruals, with a strong interface to project cost control analysts and project managers;
-Work with the Corporate Fixed Assets team to review assets for retirement, required updates to useful lives, and depreciation rates ;
-Review projects for cancellations and deferrals, and consolidate quarterly construction commitments for external reporting;
-Prepare quarterly KPI capital metrics for senior leaders;
-Complete the annual Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) update; and
-Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
-Designated accountant with an understanding of overall project management framework, and project forecasting; 
-Experience in midstream Oil and Gas or project accounting is considered an asset; 
-Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, be a willing team player, and have the ability to communicate financial results to the operations teams; 
-Excellent analytic and organizational abilities, be willing to work collaboratively, and be proactive in making recommendations; 
-Previous experience with SAP/Analysis for Office/PPM is considered an asset; and 
-Available for occasional travel to asset sites to work directly with operation and engineering teams.
