Job Overview
Working with minimal supervision, the Senior Data Quality Analyst is responsible for coordinating, facilitating, defining, and promoting enterprise Data Quality initiatives that support the Wawanesa Data Governance Program.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify and define Data Quality issues with the internal business stakeholders
- Drive Data Quality workshops to gather business needs, analyze related data and information processes, identify critical data elements, and determine how they can be governed
- Perform or facilitate investigating root cause of the underlying Data Quality issue
- Author and gain support for Data Quality business cases as and when required
- Assist in establishing Data Quality KPIs and certify Data Quality in source system data stores alongside Data Stewards
- Provide thought leadership into the development of best practices, data definitions, and Data Quality standards and tracking activities
- Contribute to resolutions of Data Quality issues that cross regions or teams that support the Data Quality Stewardship Framework
- Monitor and provide guidance on Data and Analytics Office Data Quality reporting
- Review proposed technical solutions from across the enterprise for compliance with Data Governance requirements
- Provide input into training programs for change management
- Mentor team members and Data Stewards on the Data Quality Framework
Qualifications
- A degree in computer sciences and a minimum of 8 years demonstrated hands-on technical capability in data management
- Interest in pursuing Data Governance and Data Quality as a career
- High degree of hands-on experience with relational database management systems such as SQL Server, Redshift, PostgreSQL
- Advanced proficiency with SQL, Excel, data profiling and analysis skills
- Master Data Management (MDM) experience considered an advantage
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey complex terminology and concepts into simple terms for stakeholders
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work streams
- Understanding of the long-term and short-term perspectives of organizational data needs.
- Ability to communicate concisely and effectively with business users, technical resources, and management stakeholders
- Proficient with industry leading data governance platforms. Informatica IICS platform experience is considered as asset
- Functional knowledge of P&C/Life Insurance industry is viewed as a valuable asset, providing additional context and insight into the nuances of this specific domain
