Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Rare Earth Element Division has a career opportunity for a Senior Electrical Designer to provide design, drafting, and construction and commissioning support for SRCs Rare Earth Processing FacilityNorth Americas first fully integrated, commercial, demonstration facility with hydrometallurgy, separation and metal smelting units. Join a growing team that is working to establish a rare earth element (REE) technology hub in Saskatchewan, forming an industry model for future commercial REE initiatives and supply chain development.
Accountabilities
Assist in preparing electrical engineering designs, drawings and specifications, including panel design, schematics, single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, cable tray routing and general arrangement drawings
Responsible for the design, quality assurance and coordination of instrument, control and electrical design
Assist with construction activities, including development of Construction Work Packages on assigned projects, assist in resolving technical problems that arise during the construction process and assist in preparing material take offs
Qualifications
Electrical engineering diploma and registered with Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT) are required
Minimum of 7 years experience is preferred
Experience with AutoCAD, ETAP and Lighting design software (e.g., DIALux)
Knowledge of regulatory codes and standards
Automation and instrumentation experience are assets
Experience working on capital projects involving process equipment is an asset
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
