Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Employee Relations Specialist will be accountable for the execution and delivery of regional regulatory compliance and company based Employee Relations services for our North America businesses and functions. In this role, you will handle issues such as conflict resolutions, industrial relations and Employee Relations based investigations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as an Employee Relations Specialist within the NA region to provide relevant and effective consulting services.
  • Provide NA locations and businesses with Employee Relations services as requested or as needed based on urgency or as work flow dictates; the role will focus on complex investigations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
  • Participate in major special projects as needed providing your Employee Relations expertise.
  • Confer with other HR professionals and leaders and provide consultation, contribute to process and solution improvements and insights (including Data Analytics, Predictive Analytics of ER data and solutioning, exit process, confidential agreements, RIF process, etc.), focusing on continuous improvement and creating overall efficiency while minimizing risk to the workplace.
  • Prepare audits, reporting and compliance reviews pertaining to local and regional regulations and programs.
  • Develop, present, participate and contribute to training and consultation on Employee Relations and compliance related topics, policies and procedures.
  • You will work under minimal supervision and independently handle complex issues while referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the Canada Labour Code
  • Experience conducting Employee Relations investigations and handling conflict resolution 
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in the United States or Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of US law
  • Human resources certificate
  • Ability to quickly build relationships and credibility
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to influence desired outcomes
  • Experience handling multiple and changing priorities
