Senior Environmental Specialist, Environment and Sustainability 
Fulltime position located in Vancouver

The Role: Your knowledge of regulatory processes and your project management skills is critical for successful project delivery. In a practice that is growing, you will be part of Hatch’s global Environment and Sustainability practice, leading the management of some of our key client relationships and exercising your business development skills. We collaborate and partner with clients, communities, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and Hatch’s engineering teams to solve our client’s most challenging problems. Your challenges with us!
•    Lead and grow the revenue and profit of our existing environmental consulting practice in the areas of environmental and social impact assessments, permitting, and ecology
•    Identify and develop environment and sustainability related business opportunities with clients and companies working in the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
•    Provide leadership, technical direction, peer review and advice within our existing environmental consulting practice.
•    Using your strong project management skills, coordinate key environmental deliverables on behalf of clients and projects
•    Provide technical and quality review for client deliverables.
•    Participate in resource planning, mentorship and advisory leadership to project teams.
•    Work collaboratively with integrated, multidisciplinary teams, liaising with and supporting global peers.
•    Recruit and develop Hatch’s next generation of environmental leaders.
 
Your profile:
•    Post-secondary education in environmental sciences, planning, environmental management, environmental engineering, social impact assessment, and/or a related discipline.
•    15+ years of experience in managing and delivering environmental and social impact assessments, permitting, and regulatory approvals on major mining, energy, or infrastructure projects
•    In-depth understanding of environmental and social impact assessment, permitting, and regulatory requirements across Canada, internationally, and within provinces and territories.
•    Demonstrated business development and client engagement experience.
•    Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire environmental teams, collaborate with peers and integrate with engineering teams.
•    Experience working on major EPCM projects.
•    Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as work requires.
•    Entrepreneurial with a strong quality focus.
•    Effective at managing internal and external stakeholders.
•    Clear communication style with the ability to plan, lead, and deliver best in class, high quality deliverables.
