The Financial Crimes Business Analyst is part of the Financial Crimes Team dedicated to the prevention and detection of financial crime activity to protect Neo and its customers. The Financial Crimes team consists of Financial Crime Operations, FinCrime Business Analysts, Compliance, and Enterprise Risk Management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with a team of Financial Crime BAs responsible for identifying small, medium, and large-scale patterns of financial crime activity.
  • Identify gaps in Neo’s ecosystem that contribute to the occurrence of financial crime or present an increased financial crime risk to Neo.
  • Support overall Financial Crime strategy by leading specific initiatives and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Create business and regulatory reports such as Suspicious Transaction Reports and incident briefs for both technical and non-technical stakeholders to effectively communicate financial crime risks and mitigation tactics.
  • Build and execute the fraud/aml education program in order to upskill all Neo colleagues and educate customers.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve reporting, fraud detection, and prevention while keeping stakeholders informed across all stages.
  • Coordinate with relevant professional organizations to understand current and future financial crime risks across Canada and contribute to knowledge in the Canadian financial crime landscape.
  • A crucial component in the constant evolution is to protect Neo and its customers.
What we are looking for:
  • 2 years working in Fraud, AML, Risk Operations, or related fields.
  • Intermediate proficiency with SQL.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong understanding of fraud and money laundering techniques, including FINTRAC guidelines.
  • Intellectually curious and enjoys investigating the root cause of problems and finding solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency with G-Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Business analytics or data science experience is an asset.
  • University Degree in Business, Math, Economics, Statistics, or other relevant fields is an asset.
  • Experience using data visualization tools is nice to have.
  • Designations such as CAMS, CFCS, and CFE, or progress toward them, are nice to have.
