As the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst at Canfor, you will be a key member of the Finance team, responsible for operational, financial, and management accounting reporting and analysis. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Reporting & Analysis, your primary focus will be on preparing the Company's quarterly/annual external materials and monthly internal consolidated Financial Reporting packages. You will collaborate with finance partners, compile supporting documentation, and ensure accurate reporting to external stakeholders. Additionally, you will assist in executing the finance mission for Canfor's Finance department, working closely with the Senior Manager of Corporate Analysis and the Director of Corporate Reporting & Analysis.

 

The life of the Financial Reporting Analyst includes:

 

  • Key contributor to the Company’s monthly internal consolidated financial results, reports and analysis
  • Prepare the Company’s quarterly and annual external reporting materials, primarily focused on Management’s Discussion and Analysis
  • Prepare quarterly and annual analyses of financial results for both public companies
  • Annual impairment assessments for review by external auditors and the Audit Committee
  • Support the Director of Corporate Reporting & Analysis in the reporting and analysis of results for the Company’s European operations
  • Key liaison with external auditors
  • Ad-hoc consolidated-level finance projects.

 

For this role, come equipped with:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field with a CPA-CA designation
  • Progressive experience in accounting with a strong technical accounting foundation
  • Experience working with medium-large publicly listed companies, including solid understanding of required regulatory financial filings

 

In a perfect world, you have experience with consolidation accounting in a multi-divisional, public reporting company environment and a strong understanding of IFRS. Your CPA designation would also be highly desirable.

Candidates with substantial experience in a large company setting will also be strongly considered.

The salary range for this position is: $95,500.00 $119,500.00
