We are seeking a resourceful and forward-thinking Senior IT Compliance Analyst who will perform testing of defined security and IT general computing controls across relevant applications, infrastructure and processes to verify that controls are sufficiently well crafted and operating effectively to keep the risks that they mitigate within Aviva's tolerance level. You are collaborative, believe in teamwork and are comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with colleagues on delivery of controls testing and provide data analytic support as required.

  • Develop test plans that align with test objectives and Aviva’s IT and Business Protection controls testing standards.

  • Perform data driven assessments and formalize conclusions on design adequacy and operating effectiveness of key controls, backed by supporting data evidence.

  • Make recommendations on areas of possible testing enhancement to improve efficiency and accuracy of established processes.

  • Develop scripts which follow generally accepted coding standards and ensure future maintainability. 

  • Think outside the box to determine what available tools and methods can be used to extract data from various systems and accomplish test objectives, while still ensuring the quality of data extracted is complete, reliable, usable and auditable.

  • Identify opportunities and methods to reduce manual testing effort and proactively monitor controls through automated/continuous testing methods.

  • Perform walkthrough and sample-based testing (as needed)

  • Detail the assessment package (write-up and supporting evidence)

What you’ll bring

Crucial Skills and Knowledge

  • Advance proficiency with one or more analytics coding languages/Software e.g. Python (Pandas), SAS, ACL (Diligent), MS Excel

  • Good understanding of data querying, data preparation and data transformation

  • 2+ years as a developer and/or data analyst (direct experience with control testing would be an asset)

  • Organized, detail oriented, ability to plan, analyze data and support conclusions.

  • Dedication to personal development and a desire to learn.

  • The ability to work actively and effectively as part of a distributed team, as well as independently, to deliver results.

  • Superb communication, collaboration and time management skills.

  • Curious mind, who is self-motivated and capable of self-directed learning of software.

Desirable Knowledge and Qualifications

  • A degree in a technology related subject and/or relevant organizational and subject matter expertise (COBIT, COSO, ITIL).

  • Relevant industry qualification (e.g. CISA, CIA, CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker).

  • Knowledge of the following: Windows Technologies, Unix, Linux, Oracle, Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure), Cryptography and System Architecture, SQL, Power BI Reporting tools

  • Knowledge of IT systems, security and/or day to day IT Operations

  • Understanding of security and IT general computing controls

  • Control testing experience in an IT environment or IT audit experience.
