What is the Opportunity?
RBC Wealth Management Technology Solutions team is looking for an experienced Software Developer who is passionate about building applications providing best in class customer experience and digital solutions. You will be an integral part of a dynamic, diverse agile team within the global technology organisation supported by an ecosystem of thousands of technology experts and industry leading platforms. This role will offer an opportunity to build, enhance market leading products that are secure and scalable. Our apps are used by RBC clients and relationship managers making your contributions highly impactful and visible, directly contributing to the success of RBC.
What will you do?
- Detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. Applies experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.
- Designing and coding application programs by leveraging Best Practices alongside a global development team; performing testing for developed applications.
- Ensure code quality, performance, scalability, responsiveness of applications.
- Conduct and contribute to design and code reviews ensuring our apps are scalable, testable, and maintainable.
- Reviewing, analyzing, and modifying programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging, and installing for a large-scale system.
- Ensuring the operating efficiency of existing application systems. Maintaining records for the documentation of systems development and revisions.
- Conducting analyses of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.
- Work in an Agile team environment which is fast paced, fun and collaborative.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high value and make a large impact to client facing services.
- Stay current and competitive by keeping up to date with the latest platform capabilities, security, performance, and reusability.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-Haves:
- Extensive hands-on experience in application development, design, testing, operational stability
- Advanced knowledge of programming in C# preferably or Java, proficiency in ReactJS ecosystem
- Ability to design and address functional/technical problems independently
- Experience designing and building apps including websites for phones, tablets, desktops
- Knowledge of networking, including HTTP, RESTful APIs, and multithreading
- Experience with accessibility features on devices
- Be a collaborative, team player, who values giving and receiving constructive feedback and who has strong interpersonal skills
Nice-to-Haves:
- Knowledge of Application Security design and testing
- Experience working on Kafka, Apigee, Spring Boot, any cloud platforms
- Automation testing
- Any work on your GitHub account
- Any apps or websites that can be demonstrated
- Knowledge working with DevOps pipelines, such as Jenkins
- Experience working in an Agile Team environment
