The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Member Service Representative\Advisor, who is looking to take their career to the next level as a Senior Member Service Advisor (SMSA) at BACU! In this role, the SMSA is responsible for working alongside Member Service Representatives to ensure all member requests and branch functions are met. The SMSA is a key resource in managing investments and complex non-lending matters for our members. The SMSA acts as a coordinator to ensure the members receive the needed level of service.

A component of the role is to manage existing Credential Asset Management investors with their needs.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Open, close, and maintain personal and business accounts
• Open and administer estate accounts as needed
• Administer a small portfolio of mutual fund clients and act as a backup to BACU’s Wealth Advisory team
• Act as a key resource person for all non-lending complex matters that are encountered by your branch. Work with fellow employees at ensuring all member transactions are completed effectively and at the highest standards
• Coordinate and manage various deposit services, specific to registered and non-registered savings plans, including pension and locked-in fund transfers from approved jurisdictions
• Consistently apply and adhere to all policies, procedures, and practices

Education and Experience

• Licensed and in good standing with the Manitoba Securities Commission or willingness to obtain license within 12 months from date of hire. Willing to complete all required educational components and continual education requirements
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Member Service Representative within the credit union system, with direct experience in managing investment portfolios, account openings, and complex financial matters
• High level of understanding of registered products administration, account opening, estate management, and a desire to help manage a mutual fund investment portfolio
• Member focused and helpful with a high attention to detail with a member centric approach
• Previous RFS Banking Software experience is considered an asset
• Proficiency in a Windows and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) based environment along with a comfort in learning and using multiple software programs, are key to success in this position
• Demonstrated prioritization, organization, time management, and strong communication skills
