Our Team

Our Newfoundland and Labrador Operations are an integrated mining, milling, and processing operation. Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voisey's Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes.

The Integrated Planning team supports all Site Operations and asset repair requirements to maintain a safe and productive operation. Direct engagement with various departments allows the team to efficiently plan and organize required work scopes for all aspects of installations, repairs, and modifications to site assets.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Mobile Maintenance Plannerto join our Integrated Planning department in Voisey's Bay, NL. This is a permanent position.

This position is based at the Voisey's Bay mine site in Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation. This position is on a two week on, two week off rotation.

The Senior Mobile Maintenance Planner will support our Underground Mobile Maintenance department at the Voisey's Bay Mine Site. The Senior Mobile Maintenance Planner will develop work orders and schedules for underground mobile equipment while incorporating safe working condition criteria, production targets, and forecasting the appropriate resources to complete safe work. The Senior Mobile Maintenance Planner will also aid the maintenance team to stay focused and on track with the scheduled short- and long-term plans. Additionally, in this position, you will:

  • Assemble ready to execute job packages.
  • Utilize SAP to developed detailed planning for U/G Mobile equipment including identification of tasks, materials, tools, equipment, and resources.
  • Work with the various departments to support the maintenance program of the U/G Mobile Equipment fleet.
  • Review, monitor, and adjust critical material availability for priority equipment.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in expediting repair parts for equipment breakdowns.
  • Incorporate crew input into planning packages for work execution.
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful planning of work orders to meet completion deadlines.
  • Improve the efficiency of the planning process by developing and using standard jobs as templates.
  • Ensure that all work packages comply with applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Compile, update, and manage the backlog and other mandated control reports.
  • Work with procurement, expediting, and vendors to track delivery of critical materials to site.
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance contractors.
  • Monitor and communicate Key Performance Indicators and implement strategies to improve compliance.

About You

Education:

  • Post-secondary education is required.
    • Interprovincial Red Seal in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician is preferred.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role related to maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • General knowledge in the operation of a Heavy Equipment and Mining repair facilities and or U/G Mining.
  • Strong computer usage skills in SAP, BMS, Microsoft Products (Excel, Outlook, Word), Business Objects, Manufacturer Technical Online Support Services, etc.

Skills:

  • Ability to make decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Good knowledge of mobile equipment repair.
  • General knowledge of mining/construction operations.
  • General knowledge of operating heavy equipment.
