Are you an experienced, passionate pioneer in technology? An industry solutions professional who wants to work in a collaborative environment? As a Senior Network Engineer, you will have the ability to share new ideas and collaborate on projects and initiatives.

What will your typical day look like?

We are engaged to modernize, transform, and collaborate within Deloitte Technology's IT infrastructure. Our approach meets this objective by dividing activities into pillars. The first two pillars, and our focus, are transformation and infrastructure operations, and these will involve:

  • Align with business objectives and desired outcomes to guide own work, and assist in or amplify the work of others
  • Translates business needs into associated technical actions and understand the solutions that will incorporate these actions
  • Demonstrates accountability and contributes to the successful realization of service-line, team, and personal goals
  • Develop solutions to internal and external client problems through application of methods and tools; validates solutions with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Understand the tools and methodologies related to the operation, troubleshooting, and configuration of services and delivered functions
  • Assesses and diagnose incidents and problems affecting our infrastructure
  • Understands how to design, configure, build, and test infrastructure functionality
  • Understands technology fundamentals, including architectures, data models, and equipment lifecycle, and performance monitoring
  • May independently join a work stream, representing the Network team and reviewing, and potentially assisting with the work of other teams or groups
  • Engage and direct work to provider-teams, such as Firewall or VPN groups, on behalf of the team, and follow-through on their delivery
  • Identify and solve problems using analysis, experience, and decision making

Our Network team covers a wide range of operational and architectural subjects, from baseline connectivity through to traffic-shaping and planning, network-security, load-balancing, and analysis. We produce reliable and resilient infrastructure, services, and features to support the delivery of highly agile applications and functions, with a focus on continuity of service.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

Qualifications Required:

  • 5-10 Years of experience in Network Engineering
  • Design, install, automate, and manage all network infrastructure
  • Develop network roadmaps and align with overall infrastructure technology roadmaps
  • Develop test plans and implementation plans for various projects
  • Capacity and performance planning, overseeing software upgrades on production platforms
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and determine product direction
  • Strong experience in networking on multiple cloud platforms
  • Provide network support with a variety of operating systems and functions
  • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems and able to solve complex problems with multiple variables
  • Familiarity with Cisco SD-WAN (previously Viptela) configuration
  • Experience working with and administering Check Point, ASA, or Palo Alto firewalls
  • Experience working with and administering Site to Site VPN, and troubleshooting VPN related issues
  • Manage corporate wide network with a mix of WAN links (MPLS, EIV3, MEF-compliant Ethernet, CWDM/DWDM, etc.)
  • Manage both wired and wireless services for a network serving our users in both Canada and Chile
  • Some experience with server maintenance and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings
  • Operate and offer improvement to monitoring policies for network resources
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up
  • Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades
  • Monitor network to ensure optimal performance
  • Configure role-based access-controls and ensure minimum access when implementing network permissions
  • Test release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility
  • Create technical support documentation for systems and applications

Required Network Engineer Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of experience designing, implementing and supporting complex multi-site networks
  • Corporate network environment exposure and understanding
  • Proven Network Engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis skills
  • Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of computing infrastructures
  • Knowledge of security tooling and implementation (cryptography, authentication, access-control)
  • Familiarity with server management and monitoring tools
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills to aid non-technical or unfamiliar individuals with complex technical issues
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation (roughly one week per month)

Preferred Certifications:

  • CCNA, CCNP, CCSE a plus
  • Network+ certification a plus
  • Previous experience with Cisco switches and routers preferred
  • Previous experience with F5 LTM and GTM preferred
  • Familiarity with datacenter, WAN, and branch-office networking and the relevant hardware and software capabilities for each segment
  • Ability to frequently or on-demand travel to one or both of our GTA-area datacenters
  • Previous experience with modern operating systems (Windows, Linux)
  • Fluent in spoken Spanish is a plus

The salary range for this position is $69,000 - $114,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
