Senior Operational Risk Management Advisor – Strategic Risks

We’re looking for a Risk Management expert to fill the role of Senior Operational Risk Management Advisor – Strategic Risks within the Operational Risk Management team.

More specifically, in your new role and as part of your responsibilities, you will:

• Coordinate tools, work methods and efforts with the company’s other lines of defence in strategic risk identification, monitoring and reporting
• Control risks related to strategic initiatives, both in terms of evaluating associated risks and authorizing them in collaboration with company stakeholders
• Participate in reporting on strategic risk evaluations to the company’s executives
• Support and guide partners in analyzing the risks of their strategic initiatives, advising and teaching them about Risk Management best practices and effective mitigation measures
• Critically review and monitor strategic risk analyses from the first line of defence
• Participate in evaluating risks and the CRO’s opinion of iA’s strategic plan
• Participate in risk evaluations for Merger and Acquisition initiatives
• Participate in any mandates your expertise is needed
   

Desired profile

• Bachelor’s in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field
• Over five years of experience related to Risk Management
• Experience implementing risk evaluation programs for large projects or as a project manager
• Ability to effectively communicate with business partners in different fields
• Excellent command of French and English (oral and written) for frequent interaction with internal French- and English-speaking colleagues or partners across Canada and the United States
• Experience working in a regulated environment within Canadian financial institutions, preferably in insurance and financial products (asset)
• Knowledge of LEAN principles (asset)
