JOB PROFILE:
Position Title: Senior Payroll Specialist
Department: Finance
Reports To: Director of Finance, Shared Services
MAJOR DUTIES
Our Shared Services team in Cambridge, is looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist who enjoys team work, client relationships and on-going challenging projects. 
This individual will be responsible for completing and administering the payroll function for the Canadian divisions of ATS (Ontario and Quebec). Ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports for financial reporting purposes.  
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Responsible for meeting all biweekly deadlines in payroll using ADP Workforce Now
-Adhere to ATS payroll guidelines/policies and all statutory payroll requirements
-Responsible for ensuring integrity and accuracy of payroll information for employees pays and government reporting
-Responsible for closing weekly hours in Time and Attendance system and uploading to ADP
-Responsible for uploading all files into ADP from SAP Success Factors HRIS system for payroll processing
-Extensive knowledge of Excel to give needed payroll information (i.e. vlookups, pivot tables etc.)
-Responsible for administering various payroll deduction plans and remitting to appropriate third parties (RRSP, ESPP, FRO, etc.)
-Responsible for off cycle payroll runs such as annual vacation and bonus pay outs
-Running bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly reports for various divisions
-Prepare payroll related journal entries in JD Edwards
-Reconcile various general ledger payroll accounts
-Ensure confidentiality of payroll information
-Responsible for reconciling and completing all T4’s and RL1’s and ensuring they are distributed accurately and on time
-Responsible for annual government remittance reconciliations, WSIB, CSST, EHT, Revenu Quebec
-Responsible for entry and balancing of Ex-Pat assignment related adjustments
-Work with internal and external Auditors in payroll-related audits
-Assist the Director of Shared Services with specific jobs and projects by performing analytical work as required
-Ensure all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
-Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
-A post-secondary diploma in business, accounting/finance or equivalent business experience
-Canadian Payroll Association Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) accreditation required
 
Experience:
-5+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
-Hands on working experience with ADP Workforce Now
-Experience working with other payroll systems considered an asset
-Superior organization and time management skills
-Ability to adapt and work in a flexible and changing global environment
-Independent self-starter with ability to work to firm deadlines
-Exceptional eye for detail with the ability to spot inaccuracies and errors
