As a Senior Platform Engineer at SkipTheDishes, you will collaborate with teams of developers to build scalable systems and solve issues using various tools in a (mostly) AWS environment that spans the globe. You will be responsible for ensuring our services and products seamlessly move from development through rollout and into production. We focus on product functionality and scaling services or introducing new services; mitigating risks and making sure systems are reliable.

Training new hires, mentoring junior engineers and sharing technical knowledge with others.
Recipe for Success
Real-world experience building scalable systems, working with large datasets, and fixing various back-end challenges under pressure.
Ability to deliver solutions for platform scaling, performance troubleshooting, service failover and optimization.
Experience with:
AWS cloud services and the related tools and services, such as
Docker containers, AWS Lambda, EC2/ECS, and Fargate
API solutions such as AWS API Gateway
Data storage solutions covering relational DBs, non-relational DBs, and caching solutions (AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, Redis)
System logging and monitoring using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and CloudWatch
Managing and securing cloud networking environments including VPCs, transit gateways, subnetting, security groups, firewalls (including WAFs)
DNS, including Route53 and (for bonus points) CloudFlare
Linux (Debian and Ubuntu)
Infrastructure as Code/Data technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Helm
AWS SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ, Kinesis, Kafka, Pusher or other asynchronous communication systems
AWS IAM, AWS SSO, or related products.
Familiarity with CI/CD standard methodologies such as Jenkins CI, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Concourse.
Bonus points will be awarded for skills with Java, Python, NodeJS and related tools.
