Role overview: We are looking for a Senior Python Automation Tester who considers themselves dynamic, and collaborative and thrives in a fast-paced environment.As a key member of the QA team, you will identify, analyze, and document problems following a clearly defined QA methodology and you will be responsible for the planning, execution and Reporting of all automation activities in your area of responsibility.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks and tools.
  • Estimate and build automation scripts using Python and Unix platforms.
  • Create test strategy, identify test scenarios create, review test plan and identify risks and take corrective actions.
  • Automating web-based API and database-centric applications.
  • Use SQL queries for effective data comparison in test scenarios.

 

What you bring to the role:

 

  • A proven background in software quality assurance, demonstrating 7+ years of experience as a test automation engineer.
  • Experience in good exp. in Python automation as the test automation framework used in Cognizant is Python based.
  • Should have experience in designing Robot Framework (keyword-driven framework).
  • Experience in building, customizing and maintaining the automation framework.
  • Most of the test scenarios are related to data comparison, hence the candidate should have a strong knowledge of SQL queries.
  • Experience in Unix commands for file processing and running scripts.
  • Experience in Continuous Integration setup for automated build verification.
  • Good QA tracking tools exposure(ALM/JIRA).
  • Should have Strong data analysis, data verification and problem solving abilities.

Working arrangements:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a Cognizant or client office in Toronto location.
