Responsibilities:
Industrial Hygiene:
-Working closely with the site Industrial Hygienist, participate in developing and deploying the Industrial Hygiene Program and tools such as Air Sampling Campaigns, Hearing Conservation Program, and the Respiratory Protection Program, etc.
-Perform risk assessments
-Participate in the development of sampling strategies and annual planning
-Conduct sampling campaigns including field planning and material preparation, report preparation, and presentation
-Participate in training
Radiation Protection:
-Carry out all measurements and record data collected
-Perform and coordinate calibration and maintenance of devices and systems
-Train/mentor all employees
-Provide assistance and advice to employees on radiation related matters
-Establish and maintain procedures, work instructions and forms
-Draft internal/ regulatory reports
-Respond to situations where it may be necessary to investigate, eliminate and/or control unacceptable radiation exposure situations
Skills and Qualifications:
-Certification or active pursuit of the following certification is required:
o Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician
o Radiation Safety Officer
-Significant experience, certification and/or active pursuit of technical knowledge in Industrial Hygiene and Radiation Protection
-Demonstrated ability to teach and speak publicly
-Excellent computer skills in spreadsheets, data management systems
-Technical reading and writing skills are required
-Leadership Training and ability to supervise technical staff
-Familiarity with the operation of agencies such as CNSC, Sask Labour, etc.
-Possess a valid drivers license
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake/Saskatoon Corporate Office
-14 day in/ 14 day out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required
