As a Fitness Instructor you will be part of a diverse and forward-thinking Health and Wellness team who provides exceptional health and wellness services to seniors in Oxford and Norfolk County!

Position Summary:

The SBcS Fitness Instructor has the primary responsibility of instructing Senior Fitness Classes in various locations throughout Norfolk County. The instructor is responsible for ensuring the safe and suitable participation of older adults in group exercise classes which follow the guidelines taught in the Senior Fitness Instructors Course (SFIC). This is a part-time position of up to approximately 25 hours per week. Other Health & Wellness programming responsibilities may be included in this role as needed.

As a Fitness Instructor at the SBcS you will:

· Instruct exercise and walking classes for seniors, following the guidelines outlined in the Senior Fitness Instructors Course

· Assist in the oversight and facilitation of other Health & Wellness programs, demonstrations and presentations, as needed (e.g. Pickle ball, Urban Poling)

· Promote Stonebridge Health & Wellness programs through various advertising and marketing strategies including but not limited to social media, large and small group presentations, participation at community fairs, newspaper, flyer and mail distribution

· Promote healthy, balanced lifestyles, teamwork and inclusive participation.

What you bring:

· Experience instructing group exercise classes

· CPR & First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain through SbCS

· Passion for healthy, well-balanced and a physically active lifestyle

· Valid Ontario Drivers License and reliable transportation (travel is a part of this role)

· Strong communication, networking, interpersonal and team building skills; and

· Strong work ethic with a history of exceptional attendance and reliability

· SFIC certificate or other fitness related certification (ie. CanFit Pro, CFES) is an asset but not a requirement
