The NexSource Recreation Centre is a 155,000+ square foot multi-use recreation centre located
in the lakeside Town of Sylvan Lake. Our facility offers many amenities such as a swimming
pool, two regulation ice rinks, a five sheet curling rink, a running track and fitness area,
concession, full service viewing lounge, childrens play space, childminding services, seniors
centre and rental spaces. The NexSource Centre is also host to tourist services, cultural and

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVERS

Part Time, Casual Position - Hours Vary Including Evenings and Weekends
Starting Wage - $15.51 + Tips


This position is responsible for duties related to the operation of the lounge and concession with
an emphasis on taking orders accurately, serving food and beverages in a courteous and prompt
manner, cash handling, inventory and restocking of supplies. The position exercises judgment
and initiative while demonstrating strong customer service.


Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service by taking orders accurately and serving

patrons food and beverages in a courteous and prompt manner
Responsible for assembly and serving of food dishes and beverages (some

prep/cooking required)
Maintain the lounge and equipment in an organized, clean and welcoming manner

at all times
Perform administrative duties relating to inventory including receiving, recording

and reporting
Processing customer payments and cash deposit verifications
Promote, support and enforce Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act

requirements, Alberta Health Services requirements for food handling and AGLC
requirements for liquor handling

Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
Provide exceptional interpersonal skills in dealing with the public and peers.


Qualifications:
Grade 12 (or equivalent)
Minimum 18 years of age
1 Year of Serving Experience Preferred
Alberta ProServe
Alberta ProTect
Standard First Aid with CPR
RCMP Based Criminal Record Check
Alberta FoodSafe preferred
