Description of course:
This course presents economic principles that explain the operation of markets and firms and shows how economic reasoning can provide useful insights for practicing managers, particularly with regard to strategies for dealing with the firm’s business environment. Theories of consumer demand, the economic nature and function of business firms, optimal business decision rules, game theory, and economics of strategy, are presented. Efficiency criteria pertaining to the operation of firms and markets, the role of property rights, the scope for public policy, are also examined.
Position description:
All normal duties related to the design, administration and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; supervision of teaching assistants; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and examinations; calculation and submission of grades to university officials; holding regular student office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student contact.
Minimum qualifications:
 Preferred qualifications are either PhD in relevant discipline (completed) or for non-University of Toronto graduate students, in progress, or relevant qualifications, professional designation or professional experience.  We are seeking previous experience in teaching, teaching excellence, and mastery of subject area.  Previous experience in teaching a similar course is highly desirable. preference in hiring is given to qualified persons holding the rank of Sessional Lecturer II and Sessional Lecturer III.
Salary (per module):
  $9,037.16
Anticipated enrolment:
  40-50
Minimum TA support:
