Reporting directly to the Manager of Front-Line Services, the Shelter Day Coordinator ensures a welcoming environment for all guests looking to access the shelter services. They are in place to ensure that front-line services are available to all guests and that the vision and values of the organization are upheld.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in maintaining safe environment and observe what is going on in the shelter. Report any issues to the Front-Line Services Manager.
- Greet new clients and socialize with them.
- Give basic first aid/CPR and contact 911 for guests in medical distress if required.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and order of the shelter, by maintaining the storage room, shelter office, lost and found, and cleaning closet up to set standards.
- Contact RCMP in incidents where guests' safety is compromised by another’s behavior or when a guest is a danger to themselves.
- May be required to complete incident reports and submit to the Manager of Front-Line Services.
