Northwestern Systems Corporation specializes in the design, manufacture, and installation of Life Science products found in Vivarium and Laboratory Research facilities as well as Healthcare products used in Hospital Sterile Processing and Surgical departments. We distribute our products throughout North America, UK, and Asia with the help of experienced sales groups. The Laboratory Animal Life Sciences division manufactures products sold through in-house brand names such as BetterBuilt, Sure-Flo, Sure-VAC, and Activ.

Northwestern Systems Corporation is seeking an experienced Shipper \ Receiver to join our dynamic Operations Team. You will be facilitating Shipping and Receiving processes to ensure the timely pickup/delivery of equipment for both International and Domestic shipments such as Truckloads, LTL, Small Carrier, Ocean, etc. You will be communicating with external freight agents, handling customs documentation, updating our ERP system, and assisting with various warehouse tasks.

Shipping & Receiving Coordination:

• Booking trucks following our logistics processes
• Knowledge and ability to process numerous logistic processes is required
• International and Domestic Shipments.
• Truckloads, LTL, Small Carrier, Ocean, etc.
• BOLs, Customs documents, packing slips, etc.
• Coordinate with local trucking and freight forwarding agents for pick up times; prepare invoice and packing slips
• Coordinate material handling activities; receiving, picking, packing, labeling, and moving product by loading on trailers
• Maintain adequate stock of shipping/packaging supplies, wrap and skid material
• Ensure that incoming & outgoing shipments are correct by comparing against pick slips, bills of lading, invoices, etc.

Receiving & Warehouse Helper Duties:

• Receive, unpack, check, and distribute incoming parts, either to associated jobs or inventory stock bins.
• Record and communicate any receiving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Pick and distribute parts for various manufacturing jobs and parts orders.
• Communicate stock shortages and/or discrepancies to relevant persons.
• Maintain and update stock bins and bin locations both physically and electronically in ERP system (GSS)
• Process purchase order receivings and issue parts from inventory in electronic ERP system (GSS)
• Conduct cycle counts of shop consumables and inventory.
• Complete material requisition forms from the shop
• Maintenance and tracking of tool storage and distribution.
• Keep receiving and stores areas clean and organized.
• Steel toe safety boots required
• Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned

Physical Warehouse Duties:

• Physically able bodied to support with warehouse tasks
• Build pallets and crating for large items.
• Manually load and unload truckload equipment
• Large equipment assembly
• Hands on and quick thinker
• Ability to operate power tools and a range of general-purpose tools.
• Warehouse work and staging of equipment.
• General cleaning and janitorial

Ability to operate Forklift truck equipment:

• Experience operating 5,000 – 10,000 lbs. counterbalance lift.

Shift: Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and may require flexibility for shift changes from time to time.

Pay rate: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on prior experience level and qualifications.
