Job Summary: The Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for the control of all incoming raw materials and purchases, working closely with the Purchasing Department to streamline procurement processes. This role also involves coordinating the dispatching of outbound shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incoming Shipments: Inspect and verify incoming shipments against invoices or purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and condition. Manage the receipt of raw materials and purchases, including unloading, sorting, and storing.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct periodic audits, and liaise with the purchasing department to update on inventory levels, discrepancies, and reorder needs.
  • Outbound Shipments: Coordinate the preparation, scheduling, and dispatching of outbound shipments, and ensure they are accompanied by the correct documentation.
  • Purchasing Department Collaboration: Work closely with the purchasing department to forecast inventory needs, communicate with suppliers, and resolve any discrepancies in shipments or invoices.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keep detailed records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including damages or returns. Prepare reports on inventory levels, shipping delays, and other logistics activities.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding Shipping and Receiving. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the Shipping and Receiving areas.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification in logistics or related supply chain management is a plus.
  • A strong proven record of experience in a shipper/receiver role or similar position
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with vendors, team members, and other departments.
  • Knowledge of inventory software, databases, and systems.
  • Familiarity with Shipping and Receiving procedures.

A team player with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
