The Opportunity

Nicholson has an immediate opening for full-time Shipping and Receiving Laborer at our manufacturing plant in Sidney, British Columbia. The position offers compensation of $27.01/hour plus extended health benefits and pension through the union. Nicholson provides safety training, on the job training and opportunities for career growth.

Requirements

• High school diploma or international equivalent.

• Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a team environment.

• Ability to lift parts weighing 30 lbs. and stand for the duration of the shift.

• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and available for shift work as needed.

• Forklift operation certification and basic carpentry skills is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and comply with all Company policies and procedures, including the Employee Handbook, Occupational Health and Safety requirements, and provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

• Maintain attention to detail and reconcile part quantities and types to documented requirements.

• Pick and move parts from warehouse shelving, delivery trucks and mobile carts. Construct wood crates and package parts for shipment.

• Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and power tools.

• Actively participate in, and contribute to, continuous improvement and safety initiatives in the workplace.

Salary: $27.01 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
