The Supervisor of Shipping and Receiving is responsible for the operation, receiving/shipping the goods produced and directing to our shipping and warehouse center. He works closely with project coordinators, production manager, transport coordinator, team leaders and several transport companies. He is responsible for coordinating and supervising all activities of the shipping centre (yard and warehouse) so that they run safely and efficiently. It must also promote good practices, maintain and cultivate our commitment to health and safety, quality and customer service. Responsible and must lead a team of 4/5 employees in the department.
- Plan, coordinate, control and carry out receipts and shipments of equipment and goods received and shipped from the logistics center. Without limitation, the tasks and activities mentioned above include preparation, packing, loading/unloading, inspection, sorting, grading and if necessary cleaning. Loading/unloading operations are generally carried out with suitable equipment such as pallet truck or forklift.
- Perform preparation of shipments to ensure the integrity of goods and transportation safety.
- Ensure that all required information is complete (description, quantity, cost center, required date, ...) so that equipment and goods are delivered to customers as requested. Make the necessary coordination with the Project Manager to validate and complete the missing information. Make the necessary feedback with the different departments concerned.
- Collaborate with the transport coordinator to best consolidate the shipments and return of goods according to the different requests and their geographical region. Collect and compile all the necessary information so that the transport coordinator has all the necessary information to order the right transports (quantity, weight, dimensions).
- Convert requisitions into packing slips/receipts of goods. Finalize shipping tickets / receipt of goods. Transmit all the necessary information to the logistics administration
- Coordinate as required the transfer of equipment and goods between the different equipment and merchandise storage sites.
- Carry out and supervise the taking of inventories of goods and equipment. Transmit the information necessary to update the various systems.
- Keep the logistics center, receiving/shipping areas for equipment and goods clean and secure.
- Make the necessary improvements to make the centre and its operations efficient and safe.
- Storage of products in the warehouse.
- Carry out the movement of the goods requiring the use of the forklift.
- Ensure that the warehouse is kept clean, secure and orderly.
- Ensure that product labelling complies with instructions.
- Pick up parts for manufacturing.
