Overview of Position:

Cobra Mechanical is looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Shop Coordinator. The successful candidate would be responsible for all the incoming and outgoing shipments for our Cobra Mechanical division. They will maintain the tool inventory and keep track of all mechanical vehicles as well. They will maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop areas and laydown areas in the yard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle loading & unloading of products as directed.
  • Operate forklift, Skid steer, and telehandler when necessary.
  • Support other functions and departments where required.
  • Always follow safe work practices.
  • Label and sort incoming and outgoing shipments. Relocate items within the warehouse or yard.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies in cooperation with appropriate Project Managers.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Coordinating delivery runs within Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
  • Inventory and maintain all company owned tools and equipment in a clean and organized manner.
  • Plan, coordinate and be responsible for the assembly of the tools, equipment and material for delivery to the various project sites.
  • Coordinate and keep track of mechanical vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workloads.
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to do physical labour including lifting, carrying (over 50 Lbs.), bending repeatedly daily.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced, demanding working environment.
  • Experience and knowledge in this or a related industry is an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of construction materials.

Other Qualifications:

  • Forklift, Telehandler, and Skid steer experience.
  • Familiarity with shipping software and systems.
  • Adhere to safety policies procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of proper handling and storage of goods, including hazardous materials.

Work conditions:

Ability to lift 50+ lbs, required safety equipment, hazards associated with the trade, work both indoors and outdoors, construction sites, noise.
