Role: Oversee all aspects of the Company’s environmental, health & safety program. Advise and support site/facility management and supervision in actively achieving a . Promote accident and injury prevention, and environmental and occupational health & safety compliance, consistent with applicable legislation, customer and company requirements.
Duties:
1. Health & Safety Compliance
· Prepare, communicate and ensure compliance to EHS safety plan and regulatory requirements.
· Undertake and schedule audits and inspections of facilities/sites to identify / eliminate and control unsafe acts and conditions.
· Communicate, correct and coach adherence to Target Zero and other established OH&S programs; customer safety policies, procedures and provincial legislation; and customer policies and procedures.
· Lead incident and injury management and investigations specific to the sites/facilities under your control.
· Issue and ensure adequate CAPA’s are established and completed for applicable incidents.
· Participate, audit and coach employees, supervision and management on Target Zero Elements
· Support management and supervision team, with EHS program deliverables.
· SPOC for all regulatory or third party inspections, audits and interactions.
· Oversee subcontractor performance and adherence. If applicable.
2. Administration
· Participate in project planning and customer interactions.
· Prepare site/project specific documents, hazard assessments and safety plans.
· Prepare and support communication of daily ZIP tool box talks, weekly safety meetings and teleconferences
· Populate EHS Insight with all relative information: Target Zero Energy; Incidents; Investigations; and Inspections, CAPA’s and Audits.
· Trend, audit and communicate Target Zero data for leading and lagging Indicators.
· Compile and organize all facility/site EHS related documentation in support of third party audits, inspections, and per B&W Target Zero Program.
· Prepare, support and facilitate EHS training at facility/site.
· Update and revise MSDS online specific for site or facility
· Schedule all Lessonly training for facility/site.
· Participate in customer meetings or updates.
3. Field Level Presences
· Primary role will be supporting the management team, adherence to our EHS program and overseeing and provided supervision to resourced EHS (Junior) Specialists at the site/facility level - 33% of the individuals time will be dedicated to a field presences interacting with supervision, employees and subcontractors.
4. Other duties as assigned by the Company
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years of construction or project safety experience.
· Minimum 2 years of EHS Specialist experience or equivalent
· Professional certification preferred; GSC-CSC, CSO/RCSO, CSC, CHSC CRSP and NSCO
· Extensive working knowledge of Provincial Regulationand Occupational Safety Standards
· Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies, safety and health professionals, and customer representatives
· Advanced computer skills necessary with the ability to navigate MS Office with proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint)
· Current construction safety certifications required
