The company’s worksites are located throughout the Northwest Territories and offer a 6-week on/2 week off work rotation.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day field activities
- Supervise activities of sub-trades and field staff
- Plan, schedule, organize, direct, and control construction activities and equipment/material requirements, from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget
- Implementation of the safety program through site hazard assessments and toolbox meetings in conjunction with monitoring the safety performance of field staff and subcontractors
- Assist with the development and enhancement of the project schedule to ensure project objectives are met
- Identify and advise of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions, and other project issues and work with the Project Managers to resolve
- Maintain daily paperwork such as field reports, safety inspections, equipment inspections, and schedule updates
- Hiring and managing local labor
- Professionally conduct yourself when dealing with customers, consultants, the general public, subcontractors, and employees
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Self-starter, highly motivated to work with minimal supervision
- 7+ years of construction experience with 3+ years in a Superintendent or similar capacity
- Proven experience in leadership, safety, and planning
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work away from home for 6-week periods
