Small Business Advisor

Basic Purpose:

We are hiring for our Commercial Department which provides excellent member service to commercial members. This position assists Small Businesses within the West Kootenay trade areas, developing strategies to cultivate new commercial accounts. Provides comprehensive commercial account services to a portfolio of Small Business members including the provision of deposit and commercial loan products and services.

Schedule Description

Permanent Full-Time – 36 Hours per week

Monday 8:30am – 3:30pm

Tuesday 8:30am – 5:00pm

Wednesday 8:30am – 5:00pm

Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm

Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm

Note: These hours may be altered due to operational requirements.

Pay Grid: $29.90 - 36.55 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

A secondary school diploma as well as a minimum of approximately 6 years of related experience in a credit union or financial institution, 3 years of which as a lender, with some exposure to commercial accounts.

Candidates must also demonstrate the following:

• Proficiency in written and oral communication skills and the ability to project a courteous, professional image.
• Success in responding to member inquiries, problem-solving, and providing a high-level of member service.
• Personal computer literacy with demonstrated keyboarding skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word of another processing program and email package.
• Proven ability to achieve results and individual sales targets.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work productively under minimal direct supervision.

Note: Successful applicants will also be required to complete an educational and training program and upgrade skills on a yearly basis by taking related courses.
