Job Summary

As a part of our Rental and Repair team, you are responsible for outfitting all guests with rental equipment and explaining its safe use including skis, snow boards, boots, poles, and helmets. You are a front-line staff member, problem solving and providing excellent customer service to create a Fantastic Family Fun experience.

Job Specifications

• Wage: Starting at 17.00 / hour. Based on experience
• Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time - Working between 8-10 hours/day. Weekends and Holidays
• Skill Level – Entry Level

Rental Responsibilities

• Greet guests as they enter the rental shop in an animated and professional way
• Guide guests to the necessary queue they should be in
• Ensure that guests accurately complete rental forms
• Find the proper boot fit for each guest for the most comfortable experience
• Correctly size equipment to each guest to create positive slope experiences
• Set bindings accurately to ensure the safest experience for guests
• Provide accurate resort information to the guests as needed
• Take payments for rentals when necessary
• Check returned rental equipment for damage
• Clear snow from walkways when necessary
• Prepare for upcoming groups by setting up their equipment in advance
• Be flexible in regard to working other departments on slower days
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop and proper storage of all equipment
• Practice safe work procedures
• Maintain a professional and respectable appearance.
• Other duties as assigned

Repair Shop Responsibilities

• Greet guests as they approach the repair shop in an animated and professional way
• Figure out exactly what work is required for the guest’s equipment and make sure it can be completed before taking payment
• Outline what work you intend to complete on the guest’s equipment and let them know the amount of time it may take
• Ensure guest accurately completes the repair work form and signs the repair waiver
• Complete necessary work in an efficient manner
• Perform necessary tests on rental equipment weekly
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop and proper storage of all equipment
• Maintain a professional and respectable appearance
• Other duties may be assigned as needed

Job Requirements

• No experience necessary but an asset, we train all technicians (including returnees)
• Able to work inside and outside in all conditions.
• Legally able to work in Canada (Citizenship, permanent residency or a valid working holiday visa)
• Ability to lift up to 50lb
• Must be able to make quick decisions/use considerable judgement regarding safety as well as multi task and anticipate issues
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Must be able to handle high guest volumes in a professional manner
• Must be willing to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of assigned area, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends
• Strong customer service and clear communication skills
• Must be adaptable, have problem solving skills, and be a team player across all departments
• Family Oriented Resort so working with large groups, families of all ages is required
• Stress Management, Patient, and have great Time Management Skills
• Cross Department Support and Snow Removal is required from all positions at SMR
