Social Greeter (Mission Creek Landing)

Mission Creek Landinghas been a part of the East Kelowna community for over 45 years. It is nestled in a residential park like setting and is adjacent to the scenic Mission Creek Regional Park. Mission Creek Landing provides a safe home for seniors who can no longer live independently, whether due to physical or cognitive issues.

We are looking for a cheerful temporary part time/casual Social Greeter who is passionate about caring for our senior residents and will be the first point of contact for visitors to our home.

What You Will Do

• Welcome visitors to the home and follow defined procedures for admitting guests into the building
• Completing data input into software programs
• Maintain the safety and security of the home by following site procedures and OH&S regulations
• Ensure the reception area is kept tidy, sanitized and fully stocked with supplies
• Assist the team with light duties such as setting and clearing tables for meal service, porter residents to and from meals and recreation activities
• Assist residents with basic queries, and communicating needs to the appropriate team members

Your Qualifications – The Must Have’s

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Friendly, outgoing, and have the capacity to work cooperatively with others
• Patience, kindness, compassion towards Residents, their families, and guests
• Confident with basic computer skills
• Must successfully pass the prescribed criminal records check for the vulnerable sector and provide proof of vaccinations
• Must have reliable transportation; public transit is not available
