Sod Farmer Supervisor

Island Grown Sod is a locally owned and operated business located in East Royalty, PEI. We have be servicing PEI for all their sod and landscaping needs since 1994. We have two farm locations including Charlottetown and Miscouche. We also operate a full landscaping division and snow removal division. We are currently seeking a Sod Farm Worker. This job is seasonal but has the potential to be year round with our snow division.

The successful applicant will

1) Have a valid drivers license

2) Experience using heavy equipment to load trucks/trailers

3) Oversee farm practices

4) Have farm experience

5) Have spraying license

6) Have experience using tractors, loaders and skid steers for various applications

What You Will do

1) Over see farming practices; including harvesting sod, mowing, fertilizing, seeding & cultivating land

2) Record field data and use gps software to calculate field acreages

3) Assist with equipment maintenance

4) Work with a small crew of farm hands to complete jobs

5) Use various types of equipment including truck

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week
