Sonographers - Full Time - Relocate To New Zealand

Get Registered

Australian qualified Sonographers and other overseas trained Sonographers must gain registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board.

Your experience and qualifications will be assessed to make sure you can practice here in New Zealand.

Benefits and salary range

Sonographers with one to six years’ experience usually earn $96–120k* per year. For more information, refer to the collective agreement that outlines the remuneration.

Required qualification and experience

• University degree in Science or Health Science
• Current registration and practicing certificate
• Cardiac ultrasound postgraduate qualification
• Some roles may require at least 5 years of experience in clinical sonography however further guidance will be available
• Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willing to obtain registration as a sonographer with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board

Priority roles

• Use imaging technology to help physicians diagnose heart problems in patients
• Work with doctors to assess patients' heart conditions
• Accurately record patient data and reports
• Administrative duties such as cleaning equipment and scheduling appointments
