Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that meals are prepared in a timely manner in accordance with recipes and assembly manuals and charts.
- Prepare a daily prep sheet as par stocks indicate, levels on hand and amounts required.
- Responsible for daily and weekly procedures, including temperature checks, food labeling/dating, organized freezer, fridge and dry storage area.
- Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant.
- Train Cooks on the different stations of the kitchen line.
- Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, cooking, planning menus and creating new menu items
- Oversee and coordinate kitchen operations
- Ensure that food is prepared and presented according to established recipes and quality standards
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, if required
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Skills Requirement:
- Completion of secondary school is required
- At least 1 year of cooking and culinary experience required in a professional kitchen
- Bachelor’s Degree is an asset
