The Opportunity

As a Special Authorization Analyst, you work with a wide variety of prescription drug Special Authorization requests with varying degree of eligibility and policy requirements. You will review Special Authorization requests and apply criteria as outlined by the New Brunswick Department of Health. In this role, you will achieve a more in-depth knowledge of medication classes and processes involved in coverage. The Special Authorization Analyst is required to remain current with respect to policy and procedure changes and will liaise closely with the Pharmacy Consultants and the provincial programs team.

The hours of work are 7.5 hours/ day within core business hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
The option to work based out of our Main Street, Moncton NB office OR Work remote (from home) within the province of New Brunswick, OR a Hybrid office/remote is available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, analyze, and process Special Authorization requests;
  • Correspond with pharmacies and prescribers my mail or phone;
  • Organize work and information to ensure Special Authorization requests are accurately and efficiently assessed;
  • Adhere to privacy guidelines following proper procedures;
  • Provide advice and recommendations to People Leader regarding procedures development relating to policy changes requested by the Department of Health
  • Adhere to the performance measures under the Service Level Agreement Contract.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Education: You have successfully completed a Pharmacy Technician/Assistant program
Work Experience: Minimum 1 year relevant experience
Other Qualifications: Have strong organizational skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Computer Skills: Experience working with multiple software applications including experience navigating between applications and the internet. Strong keyboarding skills and the ability to enter data with speed and precision.
Language Skills: Proficient in French and English both spoken and written is required for this position
