We currently have an opportunity for a Specialist, Corporate Tax to join our Corporate Tax Department located in our Winnipeg Head Office. In this role you will work directly with members of the tax team and indirectly with other financial staff of the company. You will be responsible for preparation of the Company's Canadian tax returns as well as assisting with the completion of International tax returns for both income tax and indirect tax. In addition, you will prepare quarterly tax provision, budget, forecast and installment calculations for all entities, both domestic and international.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of quarterly and year-end income tax provisions including budgeting and forecasting
  • Preparation of Canadian corporate income tax returns and associated documentation
  • Support the preparation and review of outsourced foreign tax returns and filings
  • Manage tax instalments, analysis of tax account balances and review journal entries
  • Assist with response to tax audit inquiries
  • Provide guidance and assistance to others responsible for preparing GST/HST and QST returns
  • Assist in audit processes with the Canadian federal and provincial tax authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting designation considered an asset
  • Enrolled in CPA In-Depth Tax Program or open to this development opportunity
  • Minimum 3 years of tax and accounting experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities effectively
