Air Canada is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist in Cybersecurity to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a pivotal role in aligning the cybersecurity business strategies and objectives. The incumbent will act as a bridge between the cybersecurity team and the various business stakeholders within the organization, leading and improving the business processes.

The Specialist will establish a framework to streamline business processes and enhancing communication by leading the design and development of the Cyber Security Service Catalogue. The goal is to enhance transparency, communication, and understanding of available cybersecurity services, and their associated benefits. Additionally, keeping stakeholders informed of these services to maintain consistent service levels while strengthening its cybersecurity posture.  

This ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the airline industry, with a focus on cyber security, business processes and Service Management.  The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, and possesses strong analytical and communication skills, as well as be current with industry trends and best practices in cybersecurity. This is to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization’s cybersecurity processes.  

This position will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Advisory & Affiliates

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of Service Management strategies, by collaborating with business stakeholders and cyber security teams to align on Business goals.
  • Establish strong relationships with business stakeholders to get a better understanding of their business goals and requirements. 
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive Cyber Security Service Management catalogue. This is done by identifying, prioritizing, and cataloging all cyber security services and processes, while ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Serve as primary liaison, working with Cyber security management teams to translate cybersecurity services into the broader enterprise context.
  • Responsible to continuously assess the effectiveness of existing Cyber services and processes. Identify and recommend improvements to enhance the organization's cyber security posture. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, guiding them through the cybersecurity services and advise on the risks that may impact their daily operations. 
  • Establish and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure that cyber security services are delivered in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Design and develop intake processes to systematically identify and prioritize business requests for cybersecurity services based on risk exposure and potential impact.
  • Responsible to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to cybersecurity controls, processes, and incident responses.
  • Responsible to develop, streamline, and maintain various cybersecurity reporting.

Qualifications

  • A relevant University degree/technical certification, and/or relevant experience commensurate to the role.
  • 9-12 years of IT technology, operations in a large company with min. 5 years in the aviation industry.  
  • 5+ years’ experience in business processes development in a related industry.
  • Strong industry domain knowledge and business acumen.  
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts into business language. 
  • Information Security Certification (i.e., CISM, or others) is an asset. 
  • Strong attention to detail and capacity to work with complex technical information.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of IT/cyber risk management concepts.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity services and business processes 
  • Experience with working within multidisciplinary and collaborative environments.
  • Strong leadership, Exceptional analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Possess investigative nature and be self-motivated.
  • Results oriented with proactive and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Able to multi-task and work under pressure against tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Must be a team player with ability to work closely with diverse groups and working styles.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours, when required.
