Job description

As a Specialized Credit Associatein the Private Banking 1859 Financing Solutions team at National Bank, you will  be the key individual responsible for documentation and fulfillment relating to our valued client base. 

With your existing background and knowledge of National Bank credit products, legal documents, policies, procedures, and internal operations, you will be critical to delivering our credit services to our most complex customers and ensuring a positive experience for both the clients and your client facing colleagues. 

You will also be our primary link with the Operations team which provides fulfillment services to our client base and responsible for resolving issues with a  timely and common sense approach.

 

Your role:

Documentation and Disbursement for the following (new requests or amendments):

All commercial facilities (secured/unsecured), except for MasterCard

Personal lines of credit secured by insurance policies/NBF, NBIN, NBDB portfolios/GICs

Construction mortgages

Annual review approved Boardsheets: Tacit Letter and facilities expiry date.

 

Outside of normal approach file complexities:

Open CORRA/SOFR accounts with the money market; set up substitution lines with CDC; request LG/LC from Trade Finance Expertise Desk

Booking CORRA/SOFR renewals

Prepare Guarantee and Resolution forms for AIO/MTG/unsecured PLC

Any files that require a side letter (negative pledge, undertaking, assignment of sale proceeds…)

 

Other Responsibilities

Coordinate with NBIN firms to create the pledge route numbers and transfer assets (especially with firms that are new to the process, I often need to have calls to walk them through)

Contact insurance broker(s) to get Notice of Assignment signed

Act as a resource for the Banking Associates  when they have questions on credit documents or facility set-ups

Assisting with administrative requirements of the Financing Solutions team.

 

Your team: 

As part of the Financing Solutions sector at Private Banking 1859, you’ll be the Western Canadian expert on a team of of colleagues who are responsible for credit structuring and solutions for our most valued personal clients. You will report to the Senior Manager, Financing Solutions .

This position will be hybrid in nature (work/home flexibility) and the successful applicant could work from Vancouver, Calgary, or Toronto  depending on current city of residence.

Prerequisites:

  • Level of academic experience required (dependent on candidate experience)
  • Experience with National Bank documentation, operations, and systems.
  • Be detail oriented, self motivated, obsessed with client experience, and driven by common sense. 
  • Be familiar with provincial legal nuances and requirements.
  • Be comfortable engaging with internal and external legal counsel and operations experts.
