Provide Speech and Language services as assigned including assessment, instruction, and evaluation of students. Coordinate services with the regular instructional programs of students districtwide with a consistent focus on educational justice and equity.
Posted salary is for 1.0 FTE and will be prorated for part-time positions.
Position is open until filled, applications will be reviewed as received. Examples of Duties:
Under the supervision of the Director of Student Services or designee, the position performs some or all of the following typical duties:
Provide a full range of services to children ages 0-21, including screening and assessment.
Design treatment programs, provide direct therapy, and consult with school staff, parents, and outside agencies as appropriate.
Assist in student placement and District program planning if appropriate.
Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instructional activities consistent with building and adopted District curriculum.
Provide an enthusiastic and positive learning climate which promotes appropriate behavior and successful learning.Interacts regularly and positively with students, colleagues, parents, and patrons of the school district.
Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, provides progress reports as required, and communicates with parents as deemed necessary.
Participate in building and district-level meetings as needed.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation including end-of-year reports and grant applications.
Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team to determine the child’s eligibility for services, appropriate programming, and ongoing progress and needs.
Attend student/parent conferences if required.
Other similar, related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Valid Washington State ESA certificate with appropriate endorsement required.
Experience in Speech-Language Pathology in a school setting.
Organizational skills to coordinate services districtwide.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated ability to provide appropriate Speech services.
Multicultural experience and expertise preferred.
Ability to work and plan successfully with other staff members.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding related to teaching students at assigned grade level(s).
Demonstrated ability to work with parents and to clearly articulate school programs.
Knowledge of disability assessment and evaluation models.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to parents, students, and staff.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
Ability to make presentations to constituencies regarding Speech Language Program.
Excellent organizational skills to coordinate services districtwide.
