Job Summary
Working together with youth, families and communities to achieve positive outcomes and change lives!
MCFD's community-based Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) teams work in partnership with families and communities to foster positive mental health outcomes and well-being for children and youth, and their families.
Child and Youth Mental Health Clinicians provide direct clinical services such as intake, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessment, safety plans and crisis intervention for children and youth from birth to age 18 and their families. Clinicians work in flexible ways, including in home, school, and community settings. Through consultation, the CYMH Clinician will build and maintain relationships to support coordinated services and positive outcomes for children, youth, and families.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
  • Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level in a similar subject may be considered.
    • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ).
  • Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
    • Preference may be given to applicants with 2+ years of experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
  • Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:
There are multiple permanent vacancies available.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent part -time and full-time vacancies.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
