The Role: Under the direction of the Child and Youth with Complex Care Needs (CYCCN) Team Leader the Outreach Clinician works with the community team and functions in the roles of intervention and stabilization specialist. Working with the community team and caregivers, Positive Behaviour Support plans are developed, or enhanced to include Trauma Informed and attachment principles, and clinical intervention plans are developed. Provincial Outreach supports the implementation of the plans and teaches the community integrated team members and caregivers.
This position provides clinical support to communities across the province and the Complex Care Unit (on-site program), provides community education and training, provides consultation with multiple community partners around developing and maintaining the child and youth with complex care needs plan, articulates complex conceptual models of care and treatment to multiple groups of people with diverse backgrounds, provides clinical formulations of client behavioral plans using Learning Theory, Trauma Informed, Developmental and Attachment principles and interventions consistent with evidence based treatment modalities.
Job Requirements:
  • Master's in Social Work (Clinical specialization or equivalent training/education), Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Behavioural Analysis, Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level.
    • NOTE:If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum two years clinical experience working in child and youth mental health services or children and youth with support needs, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community-based treatment services.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e., from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given for:
  • Experience working with Indigenous children, youth, families and communities.
  • Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; these positions may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
