GeoBC manages and analyzes geospatial information and creates products to help Government better manage natural resources in British Columbia. GeoBC offers Geographic Information services to government agencies, particularly the natural resource sector.
The Geospatial Services Coordinator leads a variety of resource management projects for clients and provides professional advice for the resolution of land and resource issues through the application of information and technology. The Coordinator maximizes the potential of GIS and related geospatial and information technologies in support of business and program objectives and client needs.

Job Requirements:
Education:
  • Degree in resource management, geography, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), or a related field, OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience:
  • Experience managing projects based on project management principles.
  • Experience working on complex land and resource management issues.
  • Experience preparing and presenting strategic land and resource management technology issues and recommendations to multi-stakeholder planning tables, and/or senior management.
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of data management policies, procedures, systems, and standards.
  • Experience using sound technical knowledge and analytical skills with geospatial tools including GIS, relational databases, remote sensing, and related technologies.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online/Portal/Hub.
  • Experience with scripting and custom geospatial data modelling.
  • Experience working across multiple agencies in a collaborative model to solve complex issues.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This is for one (1) permanent opportunities.
