Stockroom Technician

Entegrus requires a Stockroom Technician for our Chatham location. Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Operational Services, this position is primarily responsible for receiving, maintaining and issuing stock of all material and supplies required for the operations and office departments.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Order consumable materials on an as needed basis;

· Match incoming shipments, bills of lading and purchase orders to verify accuracy of deliveries;

· Perform all physical shipping and receiving functions;

· Operate a variety of machines and equipment (e.g. forklift, bobcat, power tools);

· Maintain the stock area in an organized, clean and safe manner and deliver material to job sites;

· Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company policies and procedures;

· Maintain tracking records of the maintenance of tools, rubber goods, grounds and hazardous materials (including associated Material Safety Data Sheets and WHMIS), as required by policy and/or manufacturer recommendations;

· Assist with building maintenance (e.g. safety/firm systems, snow removal, refuge cleanup, general maintenance), including response to emergency situations;

· Issue purchase orders on an as needed basis;

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Education: Must have Grade 12 Secondary School Graduation Diploma, forklift certification and propane handling certification. A certificate in procurement would be an asset.

· Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of job-related experience

· Knowledge: General knowledge of all stocked items. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

· Skills: Must have strong organizational skills including records management. Must have demonstrable written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

· Other: Must possess and maintain a valid Class DZ licence (or the ability to obtain a DZ licence within 6 months of hire) and an acceptable driver’s abstract. Must be able and willing to perform periodic after-hours work as needed. Must be able and willing to perform physical materials handling.

This position is a full-time union position based on the IBEW Collective Agreement. Current hours of work are from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Periodic travel within the Entegrus service territory to support other operational centres (i.e., St. Thomas office) may also be required.
