Tundra Oil & Gas is a Manitoba-based oil and gas exploration and production company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Winnipeg-based James Richardson & Sons, Limited. Tundra is seeking a Strategic Program Coordinator for our Virden, MB, Winnipeg, MB, or Calgary, AB office. The objective of this position will be to effectively cascade Tundra’s corporate goals across different levels of the organization. Your contributions will be pivotal in ensuring alignment with our strategic goals, fostering a culture of empowerment and efficiency. The incumbent in this role will be eligible to participate in our hybrid work program.

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Planning the principal duties and responsibilities of the Strategic Program Coordinator are to:

  • Lead engaging sessions with key stakeholders, collaboratively defining ambitious annual goals and paving a path to make it achievable.
  • Analyze strategic scorecards and gather key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide actionable insights for evaluating progress.
  • Fuel our yearly planning workshops with innovation, contributing fresh ideas and crafting effective tools/templates for dynamic sessions.
  • Organize and guide project update meetings, ensuring comprehensive reporting and readiness tracking for seamless execution.
  • Develop a comprehensive communication strategy, fostering engagement across diverse business levels, enhancing collaboration and clarity.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and align expectations throughout the lifecycle, ensuring unified commitment to program goals.
  • Effectively communicate program objectives, ensuring alignment and clarity across the organizational spectrum.
  • Provide invaluable training recommendations, nurturing the success of our program through skill development and empowerment.
  • Offer hands-on support to project owners, guiding them with best practices in project management.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, contributing valuable insights for operational tasks and robust project management support.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring alignment with objectives and stepping in when needed to maintain trajectory.
  • Lead Lean belt brainstorming sessions, equipping participants with practical tools to enhance project efficiency during execution.

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies and be able to meet the travel requirements associated with this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Engineering is an asset
  • Additional training or education in Organizational Management, Change Management, Strategic planning, Lean Principles or equivalent
  • Over ten years of professional work experience with five or more in project management
  • Experience in application of project management principles such as: Hoshin Kanri, Lean Management, 6 Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or equivalent
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration and managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Prior experience in Strategic Planning
  • Oil and Gas experience
  • Ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable strategies.
  • Resilience in navigating change and implementing creative solutions to challenges.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in leading, communicating effectively, and fostering strong relationships.
  • Proven capability to build and lead successful, collaborative teams.
  • Efficiently managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adhere to Tundra’s HSE Management System and Loss Control Programs.
