Job opening for: Structural Site Reviewer

Burnaby/Vancouver based structural engineering firm known for its engineering excellence, is currently looking for a full time Structural Site Reviewer, with at least 2 years of experience. We specialize in commercial, residential, light industrial, recreational and institutional buildings in BC and Alberta.

The successful applicant will be required to:

• Review projects in the field to ensure compliance with the approved design.
• Ensure field reviews are undertaken in keeping with applicable codes and current practices.
• Confirm that the Geotechnical Engineer, prior to proceeding with structural work, has undertaken field review of soil conditions, pilings and rock anchors.
• Conduct reinforcing steel field reviews.
• Review structural member dimensions.
• Conduct structural steel and decking field reviews.
• Conduct masonry and reinforcing steel field reviews.
• Conduct wood framing & light gauge steel studs field reviews.
• Check for any design deficiencies that may become apparent during construction.
• Prior to each field review, review the drawings with the site superintendent to discuss any concerns or problems.
• Screen each site visit to ensure the work is complete and ready for review.
• Prepare a handwritten review report for all site reviews.
• Assist with construction administration, including shop drawing reviews.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
