Structural Steel Painter Lead

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for priming various finished metal projects in our manufacturing plant using spray and dip methods. Reports to: Production Manager

1. Responsibilities:

· Maintain excellent attendance record

· Storage and preparation of paint products

· Calculate and maintain levels of paint supply and related consumables

· Operate and maintain paint related equipment and tools effectively i.e. sprayers, nozzles, paint booth, etc.

· Receive and follow work instructions and material priority status

· Interpret drawings and sketches to determine and verify product finish

· Application of primer to finished steel product using dip and spray methods as required

· Apply proper labelling of dipped material for label transfer once dry in preparation for shipping

· Ensure quality of finish on primed material to meet customer requirements

· Safe operation of overhead crane for material movement

2. Requirements/Qualifications

· Knowledge of paint and proper procedure of paint and painting

· Knowledge of chemicals and proper steps for mixing and clean up

· Must have good time management skills

· Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs. and be on feet for long periods

· Able to work independently or as part of a team

· Ability to speak, read, write and understand English clearly

· Possess problem solving skills

3. Health & Safety Responsibilities:

· Active participation in company safety program

· Follow safety protocol including wearing of required PPE and understanding and application of safety policies, procedures and practices

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay
