Position Summary

Datacom Solutions Ltd. located at 101-18418 53rd ave, is a growing Communications Provider and is actively seeking one or two full-time experienced Structured Cabling and Fibre Optic Technicians to join its Data & Communications installation team. Will also consider others with a similar background.

The Structured Cabling and Fibre Optic Technician will have extensive datacom knowledge to execute small and large sized projects alike, successfully meeting the highest standard of craftmanship while meeting deadlines and within budget.

Duties & Responsibilities

(Work shall include but not necessarily be bound by the following depending on workload, Training, and experience):

PROJECT WORK

• Provide high level workmanship and customer service.
• Install and terminate current Structured Cabling (Cat6, Cat6a).
• Install and terminate single and multimode fiber optic cabling.
• Install network equipment, racks, cabinets, and cable tray.
• Read and understand blueprints.
• Follow industry standards and specifications as well as project related specifications.
• Use testing equipment (Fluke or equal) for Structured Cabling.
• Label cables and panels as per defined standards and specifications.
• Complete as-builts for projects.
• Communication room build out.

Education & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma.

• Minimum 3 years experience performing Structured Cabling.

• Class 5 driver’s license in good standing with the Province of BC.

Will be considered an asset

Certification in Belden, CommScope or Panduit.

Certification in scissor lift operation

Experience with Avaya and Panasonic PBX's

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
