The District of Houston is seeking qualified applicants for four temporary full-time Student Labourer positions.
STUDENT LABOURERS

Dates: May – August 2024 (14 Weeks)
Term: Temporary Full Time
Rate of Pay: $23.28 hourly
Hours of Work: 40 Hours per week
Closing Date: March 26, 2024
Classification: Union – CUPE Local 2086
Primary Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Operations or designate, the incumbent will perform regular maintenance of the District’s parks and park amenities. Primary responsibilities include turf maintenance, building maintenance and repair, general repair and ground maintenance.
Preference will be given to candidates that meet the Canada Summer Jobs Program eligibility criteria.

Required Qualifications:
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Experience operating equipment and parks maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current CPR Certificate
- Training in turf operations and horticulture
- Training in the maintenance of equipment
