About the Position
Supporting Ethical Decision-Making VR Scenario Development for Public Safety Applicants.
This position provides support to the Centre for Public Safety Applied Research (CPSAR) team in assessing decision-making in the field of public safety using spatial technologies (XR). Several public safety partners across Canada are currently involved in the project.

Position Details
Please note, that you do not have to be proficient in all the duties and responsibilities listed below at the beginning of your appointment. We are hiring a Student Research Assistant to facilitate hands-on learning, and it is expected that you will be learning how to design surveys and analyze data throughout the project. However, some skills are required at the outset, as follows.
Your duties and responsibilities as a Student Research associate on the project may include any or all of the following:
. Conduct general research by answering specific questions posed by the research team and surveying relevant resources currently available.
  • Assist in the development of surveys and other data-gathering processes.
  • Complete logistical tasks such as securing and booking meeting space, scheduling meetings and presenters, acquiring supplies and resources, set-up and tear-down for meetings, and other logistical tasks as assigned.
  • Assist a member of the research team with focus group facilitation.
  • Collect data throughout the project in a variety of ways, including gathering and maintaining group metrics, administering surveys, engaging in focus groups or interviews, and other data collection strategies as needed.
  • Assist the research team in analyzing data by use of quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods.
  • Knowledge dissemination through assisting with report writing, assisting with conference presentations, and other tasks as assigned.


Required Qualifications
The Student Research Assistant should:
  • Be a current Lethbridge College Student;
  • Be interested in research and have a desire to learn;
  • Be organized and able to meet deadlines;
  • Be a solid communicator, both verbally and in writing;
  • Be comfortable working with public safety and community partners
